PASSING JUDGEMENTS
Passing judgements is human nature. Happens either with or without knowledge that you are doing it. Everyone does pass judgement once a while but how you handle that or how you feel after that is what’s important.
The question is, why do people tend to pass judgements on others?
Reasons can be hate/dislike someone else, being envious of someone else. Most of it all is being unhappy with yourself.
“She is annoying, she is looking for attention”, “his voice is ugly, he should quit singing”, “she is too fat, the dress doesn’t look nice on her” etc.
Comments like these simply mean you are envious of someone else. They mean you spend so much time focusing on other people more than focusing on yourself. They mean deep down you are unhappy with yourself that you look for reasons to judge others (find faults or flaws in others) to satisfy your conscious (like to make yourself feel better about yourself).
We all have judged someone. The question is, “how does it feel judging others?”. The answer should be “I hate when I judge others”.
To those who pass judgements:
- Sometimes we judge someone without knowing his or her story or understanding him or her and what’s she or he is going through. Before passing judgements, get to know or understand someone. We have different perspectives, different opinions.
- Take time and focus on yourself, love yourself. I will give an example here. If you feel like somebody is annoying you simply because he or she is confident enough to speak in public then work to build your own confident or work on something else that you are good at that will make you shine as well.
- Understand one thing here. People hate judgemental people PERIOD. You will look like a bad person, no one will like you. At least not those who understand how judgements can affect someone. Understand that by being judgemental, you make someone lose his or her confidence and self-esteem, which is a BAD things to do to someone.
To those who have been judged:
- Don’t take judgements too personal. (Easier said than done). Learn to ignore judgemental people. Know that whatever it is that they are saying is not about you and shouldn’t affect the way you live or do things or look at things.
- Focus on the positives. That is those people who care about you and love you.
